Chapter 13

Evaluating agentic commerce

Assess how to make products and information understandable to shopping assistants. The scenes shown are hypothetical and do not establish an operational connection.

During the presentation we define available tasks, configuration and any external services or dedicated development. Terms, costs and responsibilities are specified in the proposal.

Interactive scene

A customer asks an AI assistant.
Your store answers.

Hypothetical scenario with fictional data and no external assistant connection. Availability and integrations must be verified for the project.

  1. Customer The customer describes what they need — «I need a waterproof backpack of about 30 litres for the mountains, under €150.»
  2. AI assistant The assistant picks out the requirements — «Got it: waterproof · about 30 litres · mountains · under €150. Searching connected stores.»
  3. BitHub Shop It finds the product in the store’s catalogue — Three fictional catalogue products are shown in this scenario.
  4. BitHub Shop Illustrative price and availability — Vetta 30 Backpack · waterproof · 30 litres · €129 · in stock, ships today
  5. AI assistant The assistant suggests the purchase — «I suggest the Vetta 30 Backpack from Altura Outdoor: €129, in stock, ships today. Shall I add it to your cart?»
  6. BitHub Shop The cart is prepared in the store — Cart created in the store · shipping and total calculated by the store: €129 + €0 shipping
  7. Customer The customer authorises and completes — «Yes, go ahead.» — The customer reviews and confirms in the store’s checkout · order received

Who does what

Illustrative example
The scene does not demonstrate an operational assistant connection or an active protocol.
Up to the assistant
The conversation and the choice to use a connected store depend on the AI assistant and its integrations.
Always the customer
The customer confirms the purchase. Payment delegated to the assistant, where available, requires explicit authorisation and support from both the assistant and the payment provider.

Demonstration with fictional data: it runs entirely in this page and does not represent the results of a real store.
