Publisher and privacy contact
BitHub Green Web Inspector is distributed under the BitHub brand, which is used by a network of independent professionals, each with their own VAT number. This notice does not describe the BitHub network as a separate incorporated company.

This policy covers the Chrome extension, not the separate bithub.it website privacy/cookie policy. For questions about data processing relating to the extension, you can contact the person named above.
Information processed
Only when you select Inspect this page, the extension runs a packaged local function in the active Chrome tab and may read:
- the active page URL (origin and path, without query parameters or fragments), hostname and protocol;
- available browser Performance API metrics and resource information, including TTFB, FCP, LCP and CLS where available;
- limited DOM counters, such as images, scripts, missing image dimensions and optimization hints;
- resource hosts, initiator categories, observable transferred bytes and loading metadata, where available.
Some URL paths may still contain personal information: review exports before sharing. The extension does not request full browser history, cookies, passwords or entered form values, and does not continuously monitor browsing.
Purposes and operation
Data is processed on your device to produce a technical report and performance suggestions. The user voluntarily starts the inspection. The extension does not perform behavioral profiling, advertising tracking or background monitoring.
Displayed CO₂e values, if available, are partial illustrative estimates based on observable transfers. They are not measured electricity consumption or the full emissions of a website.
Storage, transmission and retention
Only the latest report is stored in chrome.storage.local, in the local Chrome profile. You can erase it using the Clear button in the extension or by uninstalling the extension. CSV/JSON exports create files on your own device, which you control until you choose to share them.
The extension does not automatically upload the report, page URL or metrics to BitHub servers or analytics/advertising platforms. Normal network activity generated by the website you browse is separate from data uploads by this extension.
Chrome permissions
activeTab: temporary access to the current tab after an explicit user action;scripting: execute a packaged on-page analysis function in the selected tab;storage: save the last report locally.
The extension does not require debugger, history, cookies or permanent access to all websites. It does not download JavaScript from remote servers for execution inside the extension.
External links and separate processing
Links to bithub.it and Green Web Audit open only when you click them. Those websites have their own privacy and consent mechanisms. If you email alessandro.giacani@bithub.it, your message is processed to answer your enquiry. This is separate from extension reports, which are not automatically transmitted.
Requests, deletion and policy updates
For privacy questions or requests concerning information you voluntarily send by email, contact Alessandro Giacani. Reports stored only in your browser profile can be deleted locally without contacting BitHub.
This policy will be updated if the extension's permissions, features or data flows change. For the website, consult BitHub's privacy and cookie policy.
